Alberta (they spelled it wrong on the label) was an old school gospel singer, but she don't be hatin! The song was a reflection of the Biblical story of Jesus trial and death, that's all. In real life, Alberta was full of love and never turned away a hungry soul from her restaurant down near Lafayette Cemetery #2...her red beans and rice with corn bread was legendary!
